Our Team

Emily is a passionate dance and aerial arts enthusiast who believes that these disciplines are powerful tools for enhancing physical and mental well-being. Her mission is to inspire and empower individuals to express themselves through movement, while building self-awareness and confidence.

Growing up in Michigan, Emily loved pushing her physical limits, climbing trees, and spinning around. Her love of movement led her to explore gymnastics and dance, where she trained in various styles, including Jazz, Ballet, Point, Modern, and Hip Hop. Emily eventually discovered her passion for Swing Dancing and continued to train in East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Charleston, West Coast Swing, and Blues Dancing. She became a teacher and competed in regional competitions.

After graduating, Emily struggled to find a dance studio that offered the styles and level of training she was seeking. She then discovered Pole Dancing and aerial arts, and was immediately drawn to the unique combination of acrobatics and dance. She became a certified instructor, earning certifications in both Pole Fitness and Spinning Pole. Since 2012, Emily has been teaching and guiding students of all levels on their Pole journey, helping them to build strength, confidence, and self-expression through this incredible art form.

In 2019, Emily teamed up with her husband Josh to create a local Vaudeville variety show, called Mod Vaude. Emily is the artistic director and lead choreographer of the show, and also performs on stage. Mod Vaude features a wide range of dance styles, aerial arts, and burlesque performances, providing a platform for talented artists to showcase their skills and reach new heights. Mod Vaude offers a truly unique and entertaining experience.

At Studio Mod Vaude, Emily offers a supportive and inclusive environment for all dancers and aerialists, regardless of their experience level. Her classes focus on building a strong foundation in technique and form while encouraging students to explore their individual style and creativity. Whether you’re looking to build strength, improve your flexibility, or simply try something new, Emily believes that dance and aerial arts can help you unlock your full potential and achieve your goals.
